Cindy Seitz-Krug, 19 appliquérs, and one piecer created a beautiful opportunity quilt for the Bakersfield Quilt Guild. Even though she bought many tickets, Cindy didn't win the quilt and was quite heart-broken to have to part with it. Find out what happened one day when she received a fateful phone call.

Read the sign below to find out what happened to the quilt.

This stunning Baltimore style quilt was hand appliquéd, machine pieced, and machine quilted. Cindy was responsible for the quilting.
The quilt was on display at the AQS Quilt Show in Phoenix in 2016.

A shout out to the Bakersfield quilters! Beautiful quilt!
Am delighted to know that Cindy got it back, I can only imagine how tough it was for her to part with it after so many hours of work and quilting!

This pattern is from the booklet Conway Album Quilt (I'm not from Baltimore), by Irma Gail Hactcher, published by American School of Needlework 1992.
All the blocks and layout are the same but the quilting of Cindy takes this quilt to a new level.

This is a gorgeous quilt and I love the appliqued pieces. I'm not talented enough to try something like this so I congratulate all who worked on this.
I'm glad you were able to buy it from the winner.
