The 2011 Biennial Quilt Expo of Thimble & Thread Quilt Guild of Greater St. Louis there were three fabulous TQS BOM quilts. They were all examples of the Stars for a New Day pattern created by Sue Garman in 2009.

The quilts are "Kaffe-inated" by Mary Ellen Adams (adamsme), "My Orion" by Jeannette Larson (marbles), and "Stars for a New Day" by me (NancyinSTL).  All three of these quilts were longarm quilted by the same quilter, Sandi Wagner (Oh2Quilt) of SewFine Machine Quilting LLC.

Each quilt, while similar in pattern, is unique from the coloration of the fabric, to the settings, to the stunning machine quilting by Sandi.  Imagine being able to quilt the same quilt, three different ways.  Are you ready to start your TQS BOM?  Soak up the all the designs and see what you can do!

A huge Thank You to Nancy Hamilton for the photographs.

Many thanks to Sue Garman for her beautiful design and instructions, and the TQS quilting community for their support while making my Stars for a New Day quilt. I learned so much in the process, including how to use and measure for floater borders. What a joy to see ALL of the beautiful interpretations of the same quilt design!

Apart from the quilts being the same but different, it was REALLY interesting looking at all the quilting. A great amount of it was actually quite simple, but looks awesome. Thank you for the closeups.

Wow! That takes a lot of thinking to come up with three different and beautiful ways to quilt the same quilt pattern! Each one is perfect. I love the colors and the quilting on each one.

Thank you! It is so interesting to see the impact of different fabric choices as well as the lovely machine quilting.

Very nice! All 3 are the same but different, and isn't that the perfect balance!

It was a real treat seeing all 3 of these quilts hanging together at the Thimble & Thread Quilt Show. Sandi Wagner's quilting was unique to each quilt, and beautifully done. Thanks for sharing these today! :-)

I love Sue Garman designs, but these finishes are fantastic with all the different fabrics. How did Sandi come up with all the different quilting designs, each so wonderful!
