Many readers of Leni Levenson Wiener's book, Photo-inspired Art Quilts, are not comfortable using the computer to create a “pattern” from which to make their art quilt using Adobe Photoshop or Photoshop Elements.  Now you can order that pattern from Leni.

Leni will make recommendations about cropping or adjusting your photo for the most impact. She will make whatever changes are needed and then create a pattern for you from your photo.

Jo Leichte at BERNINA's WeAllSew.com has come up with a way to create this zipper rose using only your machine and a few other simple crafting supplies.

To make travel easier, Alex and John will sometimes spend a day or two extra at a location. After Paducah they visited Nashville. At the Country Music Hall of Fame they had an exhibit of amazing outfits worn by country stars over the years. The needlework is amazing. Talk about embellishment...

ABC Television network’s CELEBRITY WIFE SWAP series recently shot a segment at ArtQuilt Gallery·NYC and The City Quilter in New York.

In this sequence, the out-of-town mother, Emily Zoltan (wife of Penn, of Penn & Teller) is trying to interest her temporarily-adopted Manhattan family's mother, comedian Judy Gold and her sons, age 12 & 17, in the arts. The producers were looking for a small-scale arts setting that might possibly engage the sports-loving boys and mother. They showed them around ArtQuilt Gallery·NYC and then The City Quilter, where they immediately encountered the BERNINA sewing machine display.  The boys loved using machines for the first time, and enjoyed sewing-out their names with the built-in alphabets. In fact, they didn’t want to stop.

The program containing this premieres on ABC this Tuesday, July 1 at 10pm EST

This show will be available for streaming after the network premiere.

This photo was taken during production, with the two mothers to the left & Cathy in the middle, as she works with one of the sons.

Professional baseball player, Lawrence Peter "Yogi" Berra, was recently honored during D-Day ceremonies in New Jersey. As part of the celebration he received a quilt from Quilts of Honor.

"During the ceremony, Berra was lauded by the Bob Feller Act of Valor Award Foundation, by the military support group Quilts of Honor, which presented him with a quilt bearing his likeness and several of his quotes about his memories of that day, as well as by several dozen sailors from New Jersey's Earle Naval Weapons Station."
