Just an FYI everyone - show 1201 with Sue Nickels will air on Jan 1, 2013. We had to respect the date (over showing it on Monday the 31st as we normally do) for programming reasons. As an aside - Sue Nickels hit it out of the park - I LOVED the show!!!! It has changed how I will approach drawing custom feathers......

Join Alex as she heads to Houston Festival.  Join her on her journey to Awards Night.

The International Quilt Festival in Houston brings in quilts from around the world.  Hiroko Goda of Japan entered this quilt in 2010.

It's handmade and an amazing art quilt, BUT it's traditional too.

We are in Bozeman, Montana to tape some more shows for TQS.  We visited The Main Street Quilting Company and saw this sewing machine tractor.  We knew that our friend Michael Hinton of Gammill Quilting Systems is an Antique Tractor enthusiast and we took this picture for him.

As we were leaving the hotel, we saw a room filled with SHOES!.  The Ugg salesman was showing the Spring 2013 line to local stores.  He said it was okay for you to get an advance look.

We want to give Gregory Case a big shout out for his most recent blog! You might think that magazine covers come together like three clicks of Dorothy's red ruby heals - but such is not the case. Take a look here to learn about our adventure.

Saturday I take off for a whirlwind tour in both Ohio and Michigan. First stop is Checker Notions for their annual event. There I will meet MANY of your favorite quilt shop owners and staff.

On Tuesday I will be visiting Lone Star Quilt Shop in Marysville Ohio on behalf of Bernina. I understand there are still some spots available for this fun filled day.  5016_meet_alex_1.png

Then it is off to Grand Rapids for the AQS show. Please stop by and say "hi" in the Quilt Life Booth. There I will be presenting and evening lecture and another "All About Fabric".

I know this will be over in a blink of the eye and  I hope to see you at one of these events....(time to start packing - I wonder what the weather will be like, what book shall I read on the plane....hhhmmmmm...decisions, decisions.........)

Ricky and I are on a photo shoot.  Can you guess where?  There is also a collection of quilts for you to see.

I was fortunate and honored to be invited to a special tribute for Ardis James at the International Quilt Study Center & Museum while I was back at Accuquilt.  I was thrilled to see the work of our current artist, Susan Shie as the invitation.

This museum in Lincoln, Nebraska needs to be on every quilter's bucket list.  Amazing.  I was surprised at who was included on the quilt.  Can you see why?
