North Dakota Buffalo
Description:
North Dakota Buffalo - “North Dakota Buffalo” was inspired by a trip I took to North Dakota for the American Association of School Librarians. During the North Dakota Library Conference they had a reception at a buffalo museum in Jamestown. There on the grounds they had a white buffalo, among several brown ones. Princess had also given birth to a white calf, which is rare. Then when I got the post card from the museum imagine my surprise when I read that the mother buffalo had be purchased from a buffalo farm in northern Michigan. On my way to the airport my guide stopped at a quilt shop where I bought the buffalo fabric. The greens and golds that I selected to complete the blocks were selected to remind me of the beautiful colors of spring that were in full force during my visit to North Dakota. The pattern is one that my sister designed to use four patches and half-square triangles in a dark/light combination.
