Cathy Wiggins was interviewed by the Quilt Alliance as part of its "Go Tell It at the Quilt Show!" program at IQA Houston 2015.  "Rodeo" is made entirely from leather, with the details quilted by machine.

What a spectacular quilt! Love the use of odd-shaped pieces of leather, and the accent parts in a darker shade. Truly an exceptional work of art, and Cathy was uniquely inspired to create such a masterpiece, not to mention quite determined to applique leather-on-leat her, having to hand-punch every needle hole before stitching!! Thank you for sharing your talent. :-)

Interesting comments. My husband, 5 brothers, and dad all hunt. We eat the meat from the deer, elk, etc. Guess according to you gals we need to let the hides do what??? Rot. I think this is a great and innovative idea.
I am definitely going to do it!
