From SAQA: "It’s almost time! Beginning September 12, 2025 almost 400 art quilts will be available in the 2025 Benefit Auction from Studio Art Quilt Associates (SAQA). This online event supports the organization’s exhibition programs, publications, and education outreach. One of those quilts, X Marks the Spot, is by our own Alex Anderson."

"Many of the art quilts are made by artists familiar to The Quilt Show, including Vicki Conley, Lisa Brehm Ellis, and Barbara Yates Beasley. Each 12 x 12-inch piece is an original work made by SAQA members from around the world. The result is an opportunity to acquire a work by a favorite artist or one who is new to you.
In anticipation of the auction, there will be a special Textile Talks presentation on September 10, 2025 featuring SAQA Executive Director Martha Sielman and several event artists. To register, look for the title Deep Dive into the 2025 SAQA Benefit Auction at www.saqa.com/textiletalks.
To register to bid in the Benefit Auction—now in its 20th year—go to www.saqa.com/auction. There, you also can see a full preview of the auction quilts.
The Benefit Auction is a reverse price auction, which means the first bidder wins. It will open on September 12, 2025 with Diamond Day, when each quilt is available for $1,000. After that, the quilts will be divided into three sections, with a new set available each Monday. Prices start on Mondays $750 and drop daily until they reach $150.
After that initial three-week period, any remaining pieces will be available for $100 through mid-December at www.saqa.com. That means you have plenty of time to purchase a unique holiday gift for you or a fabric-loving friend.
