Featured Quilt - All Aboard The Food Truck Express

Food
Truck Rally by Susanne Woods and Tricialyn Apolinar was part of the Susanne Woods Exhibit at Quiltcon 2022. For this quilt, Susanne left a series a food truck blocks that Tricialyn took the task of turning into a wonderfully delightful, and foodie inspired quilt. She writes, "For this quilt I received 7 food truck blocks designed and pieced by Susanne." "I really enjoyed the process of designing and piecing this quilt. The whole time I was working on it, it felt like I was actually collaborating with Susanne. I feel like the final quilt is fun and whimsical, and true to the spirit of the food truck blocks Susanne made. I think she would have liked it."

The Quilt Show Puzzle: To Be A Ruler in Egypt
"Pharaoh" by Sandra Leichner

Pharaoh was Sandra's second appliqué quilt that she made. At the time, it was a great undertaking for her, but she persevered and finished it because she wanted the accomplishment of completing it. The subject matter was very enticing to Sandra, who had a strong interest in Egyptology. The quilt was completed in 2002, with Sandra only beginning her quilting career in 2000, and has won numerous awards since. Each quilt is personal for Sandra, with every one being sparked by someone in her life. Pharaoh was inspired by her parents who had visited Egypt, and made as a way to honor her grandfather who passed away before it was finished.
