Show 1512 - Enhance Your Quilting "Menu" with Hand Embroidery

Featuring: Debby Schnabel

Posts On: December 8, 2014

Trailer

Alden Lane Nursery in Livermore, CA provides the setting for our visit with art quilter (and popular healthy-lifestyle blogger) Debby Schnabel. Debby, who lives in a 650 sq. ft. cabin in the foothills of the Sierra Mountains, enjoys exploring new themes by working in a series, and then embellishing her pieces with hand embroidery. You’ll love her tips on fabric selection and threads, her fusible-free techniques for applying circles (a favorite motif), and discovering how she incorporates a variety of embroidery stitches into her work. Then come along for a field visit with Denver-area quilter Laurie Hill Gibb who decided, upon celebrating a landmark birthday, to take a year-long quilting journey across the US . . . by herself!

Finally had time to watch this show, great show. I really liked Debbie's hand work, always looking for handwork projects. Also, enjoyed Laurie's trip, have thought of doing something like this when I retire. Thanks for all the inspiration, Pat

How awesome to see Laurie Hill & her van! I'm in Colorado, too! I bought an old big motorhome to do a "trial run" of using it for design space last summer - just to see if I'd like it. I moved out 1/2 of the living room furniture and moved in my sewing tables. It was my #sewmobile (see it on Instagram) I had a great time! I sold the bus, I'm looking for a new one to hit the road with my granddaughter. I'm looking at doing a coast to coast trip with her, now. It was so fun seeing this episode! Thanks so much TQS! -Sally aka:RipStitcher

Great show! Love to see the guest's tips like how to cut a circle, bury a knot, etc. the road trip segment with Laurie Hill resonated with me. And loved hearing Ricky's and Debbie's dog dimension. Thank you for all you do!

@ comment #2--Under the "watch" header, there is a drop down list--click on "show list" and the shows are listed there by number.

I am trying to watch show 1511.
I have tried finding it by the number, by the artist Laura Fraga, by the museum quality appliqué....can not get to it.
There does not seem to be a show list by number, which would make it easier.
